This superior Amaretto made by master distiller Bepe Tosolini is a cut above the rest. Unlike other Amarettos, which are usually made from an apricot kernel concentrate, this one is made by re-distilling spirit with real crushed almonds. There is a touch of orange peel and some coffee used as well - there is definitely a hint of orange citrus fruit on the nose, as well as almond aromas, and some coffee flavours on the palate. The Mascarada has a complex palate and a relatively dry finish. A serious Amaretto, perhaps for those that find some Amarettos a bit too sweet.
